What,,,,,, in MSTS 1,
are you getting a frame rate or are you just using the sim for still renders.....
Fantastic looking model Bazza, methinks you may possibly have to much spare time on your hands.

Re: Progress: Another US NG poly monster in the making...
Hi Andrew, to tell you the truth, I didn't take much notice of the FPS, but I didn't notice a problem....and I'm running this iteration of TS on an older, slower ATA drive. I must reinstall it on the new SATA drive, I accidentally formated the partition with it on.
After posting that screenshot over at Elvas Tower, it was pointed out to me that the locomotive didn't have the 'hunkered down' (squat) distinctive appearance of the original Mudhen. I made a couple of very minor tweaks....lowered the boiler centerline by approx 2 inches and raised the pilot platform by lifting the front frame there by 1-1/2 inches or so, then readjusted the affected (and linked) fittings. That very minor change appreciably altered the appearance of the model, it was subtle in a sledgehammer sort of way and the locomotive now looks better with the customary squat of the original.
I did point out to the commentators that I used the dimension off the plans and reminded them that a rendered pic looks nothing like a photograph for a number of reasons. However, if you can't win'em, join'em, so I altered my TS camera config setting for the outside 2 view so it looks more like a photographic foreshortening effect when I take a screenshot....to be further tested in-sim with the next beta.

The textures make a great model even greater - one day I must sit down and try and come up with something half as good.

So when will it fly, Wilbur?

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558
Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.
