Rail Simulater For £14.99

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

...or it could be that they have so much stock (seeing as the demand is so high), that they can offer a very low price. The age old concept of buy in bulk - Stack it high / sell it cheap.

Kind of spoils the second hand market......... the used ones are now more expensive. :P
Although I wonder if this means that EA are getting ready to do a new master, with the upgrade already integrated ?
Cheers

I owned this sim for about a week, sadly my laptop wasn't up to it, and as it is im slowly moving away from simulators to concentrate on real life anyway, but I have been impressed by what I have seen so can't think why anyone would be trying to get rid of it quickly. But yeah, supply and demand would suggest the reason Play have it so cheaply. All of the games etc. that are on Play are cheaper than the high street anyway (in nearly all cases) :P

To be honest i really cant see the point of this thread!(but comment i will :D )
If they want to sell RS for £14.99 shows they must sell a lot of copys , My son has just bought grand tourismo 5 for the PS3 at £17.99,and that came out today!
online buying will always be cheaper, but it just shows how popular RS has become.
it certainly does not reflect on the quality, of RS ,if that was the reason for this thread.
I am sure being a bit cheaper will encourage more users to buy RS and find out firsthand what a great product this is.

Really, Fred? Last time I checked, freedom of speech was still a fundamental principle in this country! Don't get me wrong - I couldn't get along with KRS at first, and although I've developed a better liking for KRS recently, I still prefer MSTS.

But that's just my preference - each to their own, eh? To quote Voltaire - "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend with my life your right to say it."

Well, demand seems to have increased even more, as the price drop has moved it from 90 in the best seller list (one place above Ultimate Mahjong 10, which obviously is a major, major seller) up to 77.

Yes
its really strange with software ATM,my local Tesco extra has RS at number 4,i wanted a copy for a relative, and was told that i would have to order it, because as soon as copies were put on the shelf they were snapped up! i ordered a copy from them, apparently there were about a dozen other people waiting for it aswell, mindyou they got me a copy in 24 hours as promised so no complaints there.
But microsoft Fsx was being reduced in price for the 3rd time,(not very happy about this though i had to pay full price a few months ago) call of duty 4 was also reduced.
so some great bargains out there if you look for them! so the moral of this thread is! if you you want to be part of the trainsimming future get out and grab your copy of RS! :D

For that price, even the sceptics could splash out and help RSAdam and Derek to producing their tons of free post-release stuff to make the game even better - and therefore hopefully eliminate the sceptics

Oh, and as if it need saying, it would also help a great deal towards the biscuit tin

Cheers - though I wish you hadn't posted; now I only feel dissapointed that I had to pay a couple of quid more when I got it! :P

Sounds like a bargain to me. Thats the cost of 2 cinema tickets round my way, and thats just 2 hours of entertainment (plus queuing, plus half an hour of adverts and trailers, plus wanting to stab noisy people in the eyes with forks etc). I've been enjoying RS heck of a lot longer that a few hours. Snap it up cheap, then buying any add-ons seems even less painless.

It has vanished from Game in Swindon (thogh you can still buy FS2004 on budget!) though Amazon UK still have it for sale at £27.99.

I'm still waiting for it to get to the £5 bargain bins - though it's almost tempting at £15.
