Expansion Pack

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Just trains has a system wich you put the code in then if you format or the hard drive dies then you have to ask them for another code as the code can only be used once :D
You should actually get the codes emailed to you automatically, although sometimes people delete the email thinking they've already had their code and have just receieved a duplicate, or it goes to their spam/junkmail folders and they don't think of looking for it. But yes as you say, if you need another code then you can simply email the address provided on the Support page at http://www.justtrains.net/support.asp with your existing codes (if you've got them) and a new one can be provided.

We're hoping to have it in Game and PC World, and various online retailers - but those retailers don't stock products like this on the day of release and they will follow sometime (shortly) after.

Worth noting that the Official Rail Simulator Expansion Pack was in the Top 10 PC Game Pre-orders at Amazon.co.uk yesterday evening!

The scenario was well tested but if there is an issue I'm sure we can get to the bottom of it.

This scenario failed like that.

Justrain answered me to un-install and install again all the Official-pack-expansion. I did that but infortunetly the problem is the same. All of the other scenarios are OK, only the Shunt on Tyne scenario failed.

My Pc is :
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2
AMD Athlon 64, 2000 MHz (10 x 200) 3200+
1024 Mo (DDR SDRAM)
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS (640 Mo)

codrivermike wrote:I ran that scenario a few days back and I can say it loaded and ran ok. It is very intensive though, there is a fair bit of AI stabled in the sheds there which probably eats up a lot of memory. I noted too, that when service trains ran past my frame rates bottomed out. So perhaps a reduction in settings might do the trick.

Good scenario too.

Hi Michael,
I try to reduce to the minimum, all of the graphic options and the screen size but the scenario failed too and sometimes I have a crash to desktop CTD.

Hmm, a very odd error to get as the scenario works perfectly ok for me to. The only likely reason this message appears is because either a stock item required has not been installed or it was not installed correctly. Interesting you seem to have the problem on one particular scenario. Does it crop up on any other scenarios for that route? On any other route for that matter?

Seems strange it would only occur on that particular scenario. Not sure what the problem could be.

Just a couple of quick questions off my head:

- Have you modified anything within the rail simulator folder itself (e.g. installing other rolling stock that required changing folders etc?)
- One quick thing to try but I'm sure it probably won't do it, is to delete the blueprints.pak file under program files/rail simulator/assets/kuju/railsimulator ?

Thanks Graham,
Only this scenario failed. I have checked this scenario with RS-Tools and all the stock required is present. I have also checked the route and some files are missing:
Texture Check:-
Shape file missing:- Free Roam Scenario
Shape file missing:- Up for the Cup
Shape file missing:- Coals to Newcastle
Shape file missing:- The Need for Speed
Shape file missing:- Long Hop
Shape file missing:- Shunt on Tyne
Shape file missing:- Snow Trouble
Shape file missing:- C:\Program Files\Rail Simulator\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\scenery\characters\traindriver01.bin
Following item(s) were missing from this route:-
C:\Program Files\Rail Simulator\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\scenery\characters\traindriver01.bin
C:\Program Files\Rail Simulator\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\scenery\Procedural\1_fakeroad3.bin
but I think this missing files dont create a CTD or a failed scenario :o .

My PC containt only the 4 orignal routes of rails European version , the Upgrade MK1 and the expansion Pack, no other addons, objects or routes installed.
I dont Understand. :o

Come on, that is a little unfair.
We at RSDL tested those scenarios ourselves and never had that issue.
Just also tested those scenarios and found one or two issues we didnt, so they tested the scenarios in depth too.

If there is a genuine problem we will look at it and make sure it is fixed.

Thank you very much Derek. I m sure you make the maximum.
With Simon (Justrain) we have try to change the famous scenario but nothing is good. :x
It is not a problem of a failed scenario, the Expansion Pack contains others very pleasant things, one more or one less . . The problem is to know why only this one.....

I have just tried the shunt on theTyne scenario and it fails to load for me also.

I have the UK version with the addon, Mk1 patch running on Vista premium.
6700 Dual core, 3 gig ram 8600GT GX card.

Is there something missing ?

All the best

It will be in major retailers such as Game and PC World but isn't available in stores yet (the official release date was only today anyway, with pre-orders being shipped out just before Easter)
