And yes we are pleased with the feel of this route, the guys have done well.
All content has been created in house and much from scratch.
We aim to continually improve every aspect of RS, from Art and content to Code.
As you would expect and demand.

Cunning......very cunning. Tease us with the screenie but chop the co-ordinates off the top.
Personally I'd join the ranks that think it could be in Dorset somewhere or could it be the Island line? - If it is Dorset, electrification dates it from 1988 - that means Pigs
(and hopefully slammers) or desiro
.

Ah, you mean they bake some leaves into their biscuits!? But wasn't that seeds? Anyway, that would explain both the incredible picture and the incredible tactics of the AI dispatcher/driver.smarty2 wrote:That's right Derek foliage is sooo good for the bowels!!!RSderek wrote:i do love a nice bit of foliage...

Re: This Week..
While on one hand I would agree that the new route pics do look nice, the route itself will have little interest to those not in the UK. If a wide cross section of world railways was not going to be supported, why bother at all with the German and US routes?. All we have been hearing is "this UK route, that UK route, this UK diesel" etc, without any acknowledgement of the markets outside the UK. Then we come back the the issue of "will this new route contain assets etc from the route I don't have" (ie Newcastle / York) and what impact will that have. While RS are to be commended for their on-going post release support, it is difficult to embrace a product when only one segment of that products market appears to be being supported. The Yanks are dark on the fact that there are serious operating issues with their base release version (dynamic braking for instance) yet read that the MK2 upgrade is months away and at the same time the new materials being released for the UK market. I imagine the German market may be in a similar frame of mind...

Agree completely. New MSTS will be better in that opinion. Although I like RS, it is still too much oriented to UK market, hence mostly UK content available on sites.

Re: This Week..
Hi,
We at RSDL are supporting a number of Add on providers and talking to a whole lot more about add on routes around the world.
The small team we have here currently do not have the in depth knowledge, contacts and access needed to produce a route and rolling stock out side the UK.
We are working on building up relations around the world, but I'm afraid that does take time.
With regards to the route we are currently doing, it is being produced by the dedicated small art team and they are focusing on producing something that shows what can be achieved in RS while also giving support to a number of people on a number of different forums.
There is only a 24 hours in a day, and we can only do so much I'm afraid.
Also if we focused on a route in Holland, people would criticize us for not doing a French, Italian, Australian, NZ, Canadian route etc.
What we intend to be doing is working with a Dutch/Italian/Australian/NZ/Canadian add on providers and who do have that knowledge.
In these early months of RSDL (we have only been around for 6 months) we could not have gone silent for 6 months to solely focus on creating a new route.
Our time is spent in many different ways, however I agree that maybe I personally have focused on UK diesels, (08, 37, 101) but those are personal projects and nothing to do with my working day.
It is a healthy discussion, and I'm happy to continue responding.
Although I have no interest in speculating what MSTS2 will be like or what they will or will not do better, they are doing their thing we are doing ours, as a professional I wish them well.
regards
Derek

Re: This Week..
Yeah, and in my opinion you are in no way responsible for new routes
That´s the task for Add-On-Providers, so i would rather use the whole team to create new upgrades
(This is no critic to you, i hope that didn´t sound like that, my english is not perfect...)

Re: This Week..
Not wishing to start an argument but when MSTS came out IMO that was US orientated,
And the UK railway fans sat back and enjoyed that
So why can't we in the UK have a little something.

When TS first came out, all fans were in the same boat. They may have modelled 2 US lines compared to the 1 UK, but the lack of MS support was universaltango4262 wrote:Not wishing to start an argument but when MSTS came out IMO that was US orientated,

Re: This Week..
Ok I stand corrected, and I suppose we already have 3 routes, (more are always welcome though
) It will be nice to see foreign routes done by RSDL to the same standard as what we have already seen ingame and in the screenshot on the first page of this thread
As long as I get that 3rd rail shape im happy
, then from my POV the US and Euro routes etc will be much welcome
