This Week..

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Wouldn't be much use for the route north of Southampton, whereas a 444/450 could go anywhere.

I think we are jumping the gun a bit here though.

Finally some realrailway vegetation. (it is still too far from track, though)

Also, nice weather, looks much more real than up to now.
Third rail nice addon (although not useful for anyone outside England)
And screenshot resolution hints, that implementation of multi-monitor support is coming.
Ahh, yes, I see 3d sleepers.

I always maintained that the plants are the best part in KRS, but those on the sceenshot definitely excel those in the default content and/or they are placed by an artist with a lot of love and care. And the atmosphere is simply amazing.

Yep, between Moreton (Dorset) and Dorchester South the line is still single. Though technically that bit was double tracked but BR singled it during electrification. A Desiro to go with it would be lovely.

Looking good Adam, another luvverly UK route to spoil us all (and keep the "upgrade" coffers topped up which is no bad thing at all).

My guess is somewhere on the merseyrail system as Two pints is set in runcorn? was that the clue?

The lanscape looks a little hilly for anywhere on the Merseyrail network, and very little of it is single track.

That said, 3rd rail would fill one of the gaps towards my Rail Simulator route building aspirations, although it looks like the 3rd rail is laid directly on the sleepers (i.e. no insulators), but from that angle it is difficult to see.

I have to agree that the vegetation really does look good, very realistic without looking photoshopped.

I notice Derek hasn't confirmed or quashed any suggestions.

If it is based on a real route, there's very little single track 3rd rail, and it certainly looks like the Moreton area.
