Player Path

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Player Path

Post by CajunRon50 »

I've search high and low and can't find any info on how to set the player path in a scenario. In the U.S. route, exiting the San Bernardino yard I cannot figure you how to cross over to the right side track of the double track. There are no manual turnouts to cross over and I can't figure out how to set the player path to use the automatic cross over. Am I correct to assume that this is another one of those failed insights into how a rail sim should work or is there a way to do this.

Have you gone to the 2D map, and shift+clicked the blue dots to change where the blue path line goes?

It depends on the type of Scenario Marker. AFAIK On Free Roam Scenarios you can change all points using the 2D Map. On a Standard Scenario Marker the Pathing Engine and Dispatcher Automatically set the paths for you using the Automatic Points. You can still change Manual Points however in the 2D Map. There is an abilty to handle of path in the Scenario Editor as a Scenario is created. The Pathing Engine sometimes does strange things though and can be helped if the Route Developer places Destination Markers at known trouble spots to enable better control of the Automatic Pathing.
