Has anyone any experience installing on a Vista 64bit system?

I was called in by a neighbour this morning and he had proceeded on his brand new system as follows

1. Installed EU version of RailSim from CD
2. Downloaded the Update Mk1 and DevTools from RS own site
3. Installed the update - that works fine
4. Clicked on the DevTools installer and was told 'Incompatible with this version of Rail Simulator'

These were the versions of Update and Devtools dated just a few days ago from RSDL's own site, so should be correct.

Is this a Vista 64 problem? Any ideas appreciated.

I installed it on Vista 64 bit last week, doing what you did and it installed without any problems. The only thing I do different to a default install is install all programs to a different partition from the OS.

User in question had not partitioned his drive, so there was only C: to play with
