Well the way I see it there are 4 steps to clear that drift:
1) Ram the snow as fast as you can with the plough.
2) When they get stuck try to reverse out. If that don't work dig em out.
3) Reverse back to take another run
4) Repeat the process until the line is clear.

When that happened, did the snow freeze quickly around the plough and the locos? Or is there another reason why they got stuck?

Only it isn't Thomas who gets stuck. And there's no tractor called Terance to come and pull them out!6rdfar90 wrote:It's thomas the tank engine all over again![]()

Staying on topic for now, how long did it take to get the snowplough back out?

Re: Snowplough 101 - what not to do.
That is unreal, in a way I'm disappointed that it didn't make it, I'd dig them out though, go get 3 more engines then give it a run 'cos I'm crazy like that lol.
Re: Snowplough 101 - what not to do.
Don't the US railroads have rotary snowplows for drifts like that.
I've seen rotary snowplows in use in Switzerland, where they cleared enormous snow drifts.
