Series 143 - DB Regional-Express

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Series 143 - DB Regional-Express

Post by rich0984 »

Just saw the Series 143 for download on the german railroads site via railsimulator.com. The 143 model and carriages look good in all the screenshots and it says you get a lot of scenarios but I am still considering the price €14.95 which works out to be about £11, seems slightly hefty but I'm not ruling it out just yet because I could do with some more scenarios to complete :). Wondering what everybody else thinks? Here's the link: http://shop.german-railroads.eu/product ... 61c9884f67

Hi, the original price was to be 25 euro's! But they dropped it down to that price because they didn't finish the project off properly ( no cab view for the Stuerwagen or a passenger view) because of poor sales on the continent and a possible poor return, hence the better price. My advice is buy it, help the third party developers and they will make more addons. Q.E.D.

I have it, and my opinion is:

The cars are great, the doors close much more realistic as the IR-Cars...

The loco is good, the cab is very good, but the sound is in my opinion sad, that doesnt soudn like a BR 143. But since RSDL has published the Sound-Source file, maybe somebody can build a new sound;-)

The scenarios are also good, they hav much a.i traffic and less accidents

The Game is really 14,95 € worth.

Absolutely right. The sound is nothing close to original sound of departing BR 143. Otherwise it's a great addon which is worth every Euro.

Will all the scenarios that come with it work after the upgrade?

Hi, we tested the upgrade against the addon, all loaded up fine, GR also tested the upgrade with their addon and found no issues.
Of course if we do come across any conflicts we or German Railraods will act swiftly.

best regards

Derek

No, because there is no AWS System in Germany.

No they dont unfortunately, i think a bell sound isn't right so they left it out, it's a pity SIFA wasn't implemented now that would be cool. :o
