Why not combine all those features into one common diagram like in MSTS 1.0, including approaching speed limits and stations names. The gradient information could be in positive/negative percentage instead of visual line.RSderek wrote:It's like you are reading our minds...
Improvements to the map are on our list.

How about putting signals, junctions and stations on a display like this - it could be made long and thin to represent the high speed, linear nature of a railway (did somebody say railway?) instead of a huge black square with a thread of useful information across the middle. How about putting upcoming speed limits on the gradient display like this

Have to say I agree that you have to take your eye off the track ahead for longer than I'd like. One display with more info would get my vote.jivebunny wrote: It's quite annoying having to click on the different icons whilst you're trying to watch the track ahead.
I like that idea - ingenious!jivebunny wrote:Also, hitting F3 repeatedly should really cycle through the different tabs before switching the TM back off again i.e hitting F3 numerous times should produce the following: ON (track tab by default) / Destination / Gradient / Coupling / OFF. It's quite annoying having to click on the different icons whilst you're trying to watch the track ahead. Just my 2p!

This is excellent example for combined Track Monitor information, it's very much like Driver's Service Timetable used on many railroads arround the world.matticus88 wrote:Thats a really good idea, i always get caught out by speed limits, having stations on there As well would be a good thing to.
I never use the first tab of the track monitor becuase, imo, its useless becuase it only shows a few meters in front of the train* and if your going in reverse with a long consist you can't see the back end at all.
*Slightly exaggerated.
EDIT: I modified the image in the first post with some more additions.. (i did it in paint so its not the neatest thing in the world)
