Rotating

Post by nwallace »

I have some how managed to produce a Signpost that looks like the Neds have been at it.

I created a pole with the standard cylinder and the sign with a standard cylinder which I then rotated on the X-Axis by 90 degrees to put it onto the post. This having worked with every other set of signs I have done has this time failed and the axis has rotated with the signs.

Is there any way to get the axis to go back to the correct orientation? Or to rotate the objects without screwing up the axis?

You would use the 'Normalize Groups' plugin or the 'NormalizeSelectedGroup' script. I believe both are available at the Amabilis site or at Paul Gausdens site which you can find at Amabilis.

Shirley being able to rotate objects without adjusting the axis is crucial for modelling? Wheels would be impossible if you could only have cylinders with the flat face upwards.

To see a practical example of sorting this problem, take a look through my telephone box tutorial....
