Eddie the Engine
Hi
I was just on Wikipedia looking at DRS and seen that class 66 Eddie the Engine was under repair
Can anyone tell me if it's a engine fault or a crash it was involved in???
Ty in advance

Re: Eddie the Engine
It threw in the towel because of the embarrassment of having such a stupid name.

Re: Eddie the Engine
I know it isn't out for collision damage DRS have taken the 5 door section to get at the engine so it must be an engine fault.

Re: Eddie the Engine
IIRC the turbo is wrecked on it. I think the first sign was that it was guzzling fuel far quicker than its siblings, and needing rescuing due to this several times. (including double headed 37s on the Stobart trian - my Lordz!!!!) Then it stopped working altogether. This what I heard (I think thats roughly what he said, it was a while back
) from someone at DRS. Presumably parts will come from EMD...eventually. There's also a rumour doing the rounds that another loco will get Stobart vinyls, but I don't know if there is any truth to this

I had seen pictures on railscot that showed other DRS engines doing its runs north
Another one would look cool but I thinck they should use Girls name's like the trucks (Yes i like Stobarts)

Heard they were swapping the identity of Eddie to another 66/4 to cut down on it's wear.
