Portals - What are they?

Post by nwallace »

I noticed things called portals in both the markers list and on the provided routes with a waiting time. I couldnt' find any mention of them in the guides though.

I believe they are at the ends of the 'stub' branch lines in a route, and can be used as start points or destinations by AI services.

Think of portals as gateways to the rest of the rail network not included in the route. Trains can be made to enter your route or exit your route via a portal. When entering the route it will appear at the portal you designate for it at the time you stipulate and when leaving via a portal on completion of its journey on the route it will disappear at the portal you designate for it.
Cheers,
Stewart.
