General Object Movement

Post by trelawne »

Has anyone else had a problem with precise object movement? After setting out a piece of track on a rough alignment to a series line, I have been able to use the ‘V’, ‘B’, ‘N’ and ‘C’ keys to fine tune its position in relation to that line. Using the ‘G’ and ‘F’ keys to rotate the track on a pivot has proved to be more of a problem. Key presses, however short, cause the track to jump by varying distances and it is proving impossible to centre it to the line. I have tried various key combinations to slow the movement down but without success. Is this a general problem with the editor or a problem with my copy? I would be grateful for any advice offered – so long as it cures this problem!

I found you can move non-linear object precisely if you change the grid size to as low as possible e.g 0. OK show you can't get smaller than 8 for the actual grid lines that show on the terrain but it seems to help.

I think the keys are touch sensitive too, so just brushing the keys get smaller alterations. I think holding down the shift and ctrl keys also affect the adjustments

Does keypress repeat rate as set in some bios have any effect?
