Drought of MSTS Updates

Post by glasgowworks »

As you are aware, New Releases seems to be very slow at the moment. New releases usally consists of Activites, Scenery or Guidelines Documents. Over the past few yers there has been frequent new releases such as Diesel Locos, Electric Locos, Coaches, etc.. Blackfoot2002 releases good modern stock for example.

Release of Rail Simulator also made an impact to UKtrainsim

Over to Making Tracks Website. November Edition of Operating Notice
has been canceled, "due to overall workload, and a bit of a lack of new news to tell", stated the news. So at the moment, actully nothing is exciting for the world of MSTS, well for the UK that is. Perhaps one day things will speed up.

Some slowdown with the arrival of RS was only to be expected as people try to get to grips with that. There is a fair bit in the pipeline though. MEP, Dorset Coast V5, plus whatever MT have up their sleeves and EB also.

Think of it as the lull before the storm - or flood :)

and i've got a few things on the way for DC4.

Most of the community downloads are created by people in their spare time. I don't have as much of that now as I used to, which tends to lead to a slightly longer production time period.

Like MT tend to say, when there's news we'll tell you. Until then, just be patient.

I know about Europeanbahn Hartford Loop & Cross City is releasing as well as Loco Pack.

But the last update for Scottish Capital Express is around spring time. I doubt Scottish Capital Express is to be released this year.

But date has been given for Irish Enterprise 2 Provisionally for December 14th 2007.

3DTS UK working on a decent version of the Holy Grail......

The Holy Grail?

....The Somerset and Dorset of course!!! :D

Apart from "what's new" just Type Jon Bilton into the search engine and follow Jon's links to some incredible European Routes.

Got em all? I haven't! Incredible stock and routes that frankly make RS look like "a good effort...must try harder". That's not a dig at RS....it's more a dig at the fact that some incredible work seems to go un-noticed in MSTS :-?

Just downloaded, installed the Australian route Coal to Newcastle which has a new Patch CTNv6(5).
Now have it working, with Bin patch 1.7.102222, I previously had problems running the route since version 6.

You need the route CTNv6(2) plus the patches CTNv6(3) and CTNv6(5)
Sydney Central to Newcastle and surroundings available from,

I've got a ton of stuff to upload, it's just with other people to test and do the installers for me.

I know one prolific re-skinner has over 20 re-skins to upload, it's just finding the time.

There's plenty going on, just need to look a little harder.

Did you want yet another newsletter that said "its coming ?" :-)
The truth is that we are currently away in the US and the installers are being tested / retested / rebuilt etc...

The SCE forum has had several new screen shots recently, so things are progressing there too.

And how are your projects coming on ?

Hi,
I think this type of thread helps, as at least the respective contributors of 'stuff' know that what they do is awaited and appreciated.

I am staying with MSTS. I've only just started to work it out. I've owned it since 2001. :)

The BATS situation didn't help either. There was a backlog of reskins waiting to be uploaded that unfortunately were never released, and we are still unable to upload to UKTS until the situation is resolved.

Thanks Geoff
........ note...... try 'jbilton' for search.
There are many new projects on the go, I'm not sure when Alister start MSTS1? ........ but there are 10000Gb
worldwide available, it must be the most supported game in the world.
Having said that there is always a slight slowing down of uploads which is seasonal (from summer months)
Cheers

Hi there,

Just to say that after a brief break of about 4 weeks in September I haven't stopped working on activites for Burton-Derby or Cannock Chase since December 2004. I can say that there are at least 2 activities for Burton that are now at advanced stages. Mine one will be ready to test later this week and there will be more...........................

The next one I plan to use some of the recently uploaded superb models Cl40's/44's/rats and the Std class4

yup......I think there is plenty going on
