No Hype!?
So where's the hype, the excitment drumming for the excitng release of the dev tools next week? Should we be worried that RS aren't giving us exciting teasers, little hints oand snippets of infdo about what to look forward to?

Re: No Hype!?
I've read a few snippets on their own forums.

Re: No Hype!?
I think after the KRS european release and user opinions since, I am not really surprised about the lack of hype!

Re: No Hype!?
There was precious little hype before the launch of the game itself, so I'm not at all surprised all is quiet in the run up to the release of the dev tools next week, however the odd few bits of information that have been dribbled out do sound promising, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Re: No Hype!?
Although of interest to users on this forum and places like train-sim.com, the Developer Tools are not intended for the vast majority of customers, so very little hype is really to be expected. Lets face it, how many people really do build routes and rolling-stock?
I am expecting the Tools to be fairly technical to use and the manuals to be gibberish to the casual user, so although the Tools will be downloaded by many, the number who actually understand them may well be minimal.

Re: No Hype!?
Hit the nail on the head there Mike. I'm guessing some have missed the fact that the dev tools will require a high-level of knowledge and to many won't appear very user-friendly. I for one will d/l and attempt to get to grips with it and will find the expertise found on this forum invaluable.mikesimpson wrote:I am expecting the Tools to be fairly technical to use and the manuals to be gibberish to the casual user, so although the Tools will be downloaded by many, the number who actually understand them may well be minimal.

Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble
when you're perfect in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror
'cause I get better lookin' each day
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man
Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
but I'm doing the best that I can
I used to have a girlfriend
but I guess she just couldn't compete
With all of these love-starved women
who keep clamoring at my feet
Well, I prob'ly could find me another
but I guess they're all in awe of me
Who cares I never get lonesome
'cause I treasure my own company
I guess you could say I'm a loner
a cowboy outlaw tough and proud
Oh I could have lots of friends if I wanna
but then I wouldn't stand out from the crowd
Some folks say that I'm egotistical
hell I don't even know what that means
I guess it has something to do with the way
that I fill out my skin-tight blue jeans
*Boom-boom!*

WEll the tools maybe high end to most of us they maywell be completely useless, however surely their release should be a big step forward for the sim.
