Hey, I've just tried to create a route, many times now. And I've followed all of the steps shown in the help instructions, but when I try to Add all selection tiles the button is greyed out! Am I doing something wrong? Does it need to be done in a certain way?
Thanks
Hertford

Re: Route Geography Creator troubles
No replies? I would like to create a route for MSTS, is something being done wrong?
Re: Route Geography Creator troubles
I am assuming you are using and referring to the Route Geometry Extractor in the Editor and Tools help. You are also in the section called Specifying theTerrain Area. And the second sentence of paragraph 5 is the stumbling block - Add All Selection Tiles.
Has it been trouble free for steps, paragraphs, 1 through 4? You have zoomed region twice and zoomed window three times? Maybe try starting from scratch by deleting any prior attempts, routes, that may be contaminating the creation process. The instructions work for me!! So there must be a way for you.
Regards,
Chris

Re: Route Geography Creator troubles
Is it necessary to zoom in that many times? I have had a few successful attempts, but what is bugging me is that now I can't create a new route. All steps in the 'Help' instructions of the route geography creator have been perfectly fine, but the step that requires to add "All selection tiles", the button is greyed out. Could it be that the add all selection tiles button is dependant on the zoom rate?
Re: Route Geography Creator troubles
To me, I prefer the biggest magnification possible so that I get the most accuracy and control. I also find the Add All Selection Tiles stays grey at any magnification until I drag a rectangle around my chosen area (step one of para 5) and then right click INSIDE the dragged rectangle (step two of para 5). Then the phrase turns black, and works.

Chris

Re: Route Geography Creator troubles
No good. I've just tried. I follow all the steps in the Help manual, then I drag the rectangle around the area I wish to occupy and right-click inside it, but the Add all Selection Tiles button is still greyed out. Do all of the steps have to be done in the route description? The only part I don't do is add a description until later. Could that be the problem?
Re: Route Geography Creator troubles
Start the drag at the northwest corner and drag to the southeast. Other options don't seem to work...hertford wrote:...I drag the rectangle around the area I wish to occupy and right-click inside it...

Re: Route Geography Creator troubles
I've made numerous routes without descriptions. The only thing I can think of is are you sure you pressed file>New Quad Tree after filling in the route properties. If that doesn't help, I'm baffled.
Awaiting a computer that'll run KRS... *twiddles thumbs*
