Weird diagonal lines

Hi all - hope you can help me out - I've got KRS installed, but while it runs alright (14fps), there's these mad diagonal lines running across the screen, almost like rain (if that doesn't sound too mad) - starts at the loading screen, and continues through the game - not horrible, but bad enough to notice if you get my drift.

My setup is:

Althon 64 3000+
2gb memory
200g/7200rpm HDD
Radeon x700se card
Soundblaster x-fi xtreme audio

Also, I've got a dual boot set up, with Vista Home Premium 64 and XP pro 32, and it happens on both installs.


Graphics card driver version is 8.421, with Catalyst 07.10

From what you have described it sounds like a video card problem, possibly overheating. Does the same thing happen in any other 3D games you might have? It isn't a driver version problem as I (and many others) am using Catalyst 7.10, so the video card is my best guess.

Hi Paul - thanks for replying - I've not got many other games, but I've checked a couple and it doesn't seem to be doing it on them. I upped the game resolution to 1280 x 1024, and that seems to have helped quite a bit. I was thinking about upgrading the card, so I might try and borrow a different one and see if I still get the same problem.
