I bought Trainz 2004 just after it came out but never really bothered with it, as I was well hooked with MSTS. Since then, I have decided to reinstall it plus the latest service patch and have just registered my copy with Auran, as I didn't bother to register before.
Reading the Manual, it states that once you have registered, you will be assigned a KUID (Unique user ID) You need to enter this into your Railway simulator 2004 to allow you to share any work you create with other users. After registering, I was not assigned a KUID, just the confirmation that my Serial Number had been registerd. Where do I find this KUID number?
Whilst on the Planet Auran site, I clicked on Downloads and according to the page that came up, there is nothing to download. Also it mentions a Cart & First Class Tickets, again these are not available. According to the Game Manual there are over 15000 different items such as routes, engines, rolling stock, buildings, bridges, track, etc so that you can build exactly the railway empire you want.
Where are these 15,000 items?
Where are the Planet Auran Forums?
Looking through the screen shots topic, here on UKTrainsim, there are some very nice locos etc and obviously some proper routes as well. Where can I download all these from?
I don't reckon much to the disc content as it is a bit model railwayish. Can someone or all of you, point me in the right direction, to get some decent stuff to run with. Otherwise, it will be going back in the cupboard where it has been for the last three years.
Geoff

When you click the register button a pop-up will open, have you got pop-ups disabled?
Do you see your username on the right hand side? does it say Welcome username, if so you are already logged in.
To find your KUID go to http://www.auran.com, select Planet Auran from the top, and then select "Your UserID" in the pop box that appears.

Thank you Mike, I have managed to fathom everything out and have now got my KUID. One more question.Mike10 wrote:When you click the register button a pop-up will open, have you got pop-ups disabled?

Does the Download Helper on the Auran Download site, INSTALL the Downloads as well?
If not, where does it put the downloaded files and how do you install them.?
I take it that unless you buy a Fist Class Ticket, the Downloading runs at approx 4kb per second, which is pretty much worse than being on the old dial up?

Steamnut, if you use "Download Helper", it will automatically find any other parts that your choice will need, it will then install everything into the right place for you.
You really need to also install "TrainzObjectz", this will help sort out any config errors in the stuff you download, (and there are a few
) Get it here :- http://www.tafweb-trainz.co.uk/trainzobjectz.html

Re: Can Someone Give some HELP!
One other thing you might want to give a try is to download items from the DLS using FTP. Not very handy if you have a lot of missing objects objects but I like to get individual objects this way. I receive the CDP file, which is a sort of ZIP container with all the needed pieces inside. Double clicking on the CDP file will launch ContentDispatcher. One of its functions is to install objects from CDP files. If you make your own objects or want to share a route, ContentDispatcher can also create CDP files for you. Anyway, having a local copy of the CDP file means if you ever need to reinstall, you don't have to download it again.steamnut44 wrote:Thank you Crimpsal.
Glad you got your KUID issue resolved. Enjoy browsing the DLS, lots of interesting stuff to be found there.
