Corporate Blue Modern Traction?

Post by tony25 »

It's a long shot, but here goes................
Is anybody thinking of (or currently undertaking) skinning some modern UK engines in Corporate Blue? Whenever i see the likes of 58's, 60's and 66's etc in real life, i can't help but constantly wonder what these locos would look like all blue with yellow ends. Its becoming an obsession! (or have i just never grown up?) I know its never going to happen with EWS in reality, so i'd love to see some fantasy repaints for MSTS!
I HEREBY LAY DOWN THE CHALLENGE!

And there was me thinking that the EWS colours were much nicer than BRs "excursion" into blue! Still would be interesting.

Luckily I'm not into 'Rainbow Railways' ..... strictly pre-1980 8)

People who commit 'fantasy repaints' of luvly old loco's in 'real life' like the 'Porterbrook' Deltic or the 'Railfreight Hymek' .... should be shot .... hung .... and then deported .... or worse :onfire:

yes, but it never was when it was in service. i think that's the point: they shouldn't have painted the real thing. i don't really want to go for a ride on a steam train that's painted rail blue with a yellow smokebox! you could make the same point about BR painting 50007 in GWR green.

for Train Sim it may be interesting to paint a 66 blue, but i'd much rather see it in "oh no! more yellow" livery. (large logo for the uneducated)

if someone feels they can do it... could be fun!

look out for my first re-skin: a stirling single in swallow livery!

You could always paint it in GNER livery if you fancy a lawsuit!

Do GNER object to repaints then? Seems a bit off...

Quite right too :P

Actually I wasn't being serious about repaints .... I don't like lovely pieces of heritage repainted in liveries other than one's they carried .... and the neverending 'Thomes The Tank Engine' repaints grate a bit .... but its their loco's and they've a right to do what they like with them :-?

This subject is always good for a debate :P

Actually film-makers have been giving steam engines 'retro' repaints for years and I suppose this is much the same

As for GNER repaints .... if no profit is involved they would look stupid taking anyone to court :-?
Cheers

Free or not, Its GNER's livery, and they would have every right to object if they wanted too.
American Airlines had a bit of an issue with FS repaints, and I think it almost went to court.
To be 100% honest, I'm suprised we've not been hammered by a TOC already...
