Cambrian 2
Hi everyone, just thought i would gush about 3D Trainstuffs new Cambrian 2 route! WOW what a great upgrade to their original, this route in my opinion is THE premier route for MSTS at the moment, the level of detail is astounding not only is it a great route to drive but it is the best route to be a passenger because of the detail and the depth, where as most route builders only limit most of the detail around the track and don't stray too far from it really, the guys at 3d Trainstuff have gone to town, they have put detail miles away, just look at the houses with their gardens and fences with greenhouses flowers washing and stuff, farms with yards and all the junk that goes with it. This route has great performance too, my P.C is only a middling one yet i can set it on full spangly settings and it runs like a dream, the only time it struggles is when you come into a town or somewhere with a load of shapes to load and even then it isn't too off putting!Definitely a must have for your route library i thoroughly recommend this route by it today!

Re: Cambrian 2
I agree with you, definitely the number 1 route around at the moment without question.
I like looking at the people and things going on around some of the level crossings and isn't there an 'incident' on the road that you can see on the Aberystwyth line. Definitely a route worthy of 10 out of 10.

Yes it is as good as we say it's absolutely stunning and it's good to see there is life in the old dog still, and yes there is an rta on the Aberystwyth section blue flashing lights an all, in fact thats why it's great just being a passenger, theres so much to see 10 out of 10 most definitely.

Re: Cambrian 2
Just ordered, after putting the wrong expiry for my card down four times running (a year too early) It's now gone through should maybe get it week after next
) and try then.
Can't wait for mine
You should have received it by now, even with the lazy people striking, (they will cripple the country before Royal Mail capitulates) I'd suggest sending an E-Mail to 3DTS just to be safe? Or wait until the Weekend is over (And Royal Snail are back on strikegasman wrote:I do hope this route is as good as everone say because I ordered it on 27th Sept and I am still waiting for delivery. at the moment I'm blaiming the Post Office Strike for non-delivery or am I being too previous?

Re: Cambrian 2
Cambrian received, on the door mat when I got home from work yesterday. Luckily I've had today off, so I've been on it all day. Excellent. Found and downloaded the patch. Well the route is worth the money paid for it ( I'll find out what the £ / $ convertion was when I get my Visa bill). It runs well, no "FLASHING WHITE SHAPES" as with a lot of the other routes. Having got used modern locos, I'm having to get used to the stopping distances with steam locos. Can't complain its good

Can anyone post a screenie of Minffordd for me before my copy arrives, I just want to see how close the layout of the Yard is to how it was in the period depicted (As I'm going to the big grey building there next Friday for Four nights
Have fun with the route!

Minffordd yard is much better than it was, but we used dummy narrow gauge track, which isn't very good up close. However, the GWR tracks are fairly accurate, at least in terms of the track layout. I should point out that while most of the route is set in the 1950s/60s, I turned the clock back a decade or two at Minffordd as I wanted to use the yard for some pre-war activities. So, don't be too shocked when you find narrow gauge slate wagons being unloaded.
The big grey building isn't there!

Re: Cambrian 2
Does anyone know whether the Cambrian route now on offer on Amazon at £14.98 delivered is the Cambrian 2 route or the old one? There is a picture of the cover but I do not know what this represents.

Re: Cambrian 2
It's the old one Tony, considering the way you sign off, you of all people should know! It says 2003 in the advert if you take a closer look. Cambrian 2 is an extremely good route with lots of quality modelling both as regards to scenery and stock. It's only available from across the pond.

Mark,
You are of course correct! I hadn't scrolled on to the Contact sales advert itself.

Re: Cambrian 2
Has anyone ordered this route in the last couple of weeks?
The reason I ask is that I ordered the route through 3DTS on 2/10/07 but am still waiting for it. I've contacted the supplier who has indicated that they posted it on 9.10.07 - no problem there but I still haven't received it yet. I know there's a postal strike but I was wondering if anyone is experiencing a similar time scale.
Thanks
Adrian

Re: Cambrian 2
I wouldn't worry about a delay in the post right now. I've only just received my wage packet which was posted over a week ago. I'm sure stuff will turn up, there's a backlog in the system right now.

Re: Cambrian 2
Ordered 9th October and arrived today, so nearly a fortnight.
I was getting concerned myself, but as I was eagerly awaiting it time seems to crawl does it not?
Anyway just installed it so off to play

Re: Cambrian 2
If you already have the "old" route, can it be upgraded, or is this like a brand new add-on you have to buy regardless of whether you have the original?
