On WCML I seem to get much lower frame rates in the "country" areas than in the built up areas. Are the large numbers of lineside trees contributing to this and is it possible to thin out these trees in an attempt to improve performance?

I've noticed that the framerates on WCE are much lower than I expected. A low of 4fps whilst using explore modecambrian06 wrote:On WCML I seem to get much lower frame rates in the "country" areas than in the built up areas. Hi All, Are you using the Bin Patch.

If it's the first time use the last stable one and read the installation file.

Yep, using BIN Patch 1.7.00819 currently, although I will probably install the latest one tomorrow (as I like the sound of the improved view 4 cam!)
Have been playing with the settings on my Video card tonight, and that seems to have improved things a bit. Will try GE and Dorset Coast tomorrow as well as WCE and see how things compare. Incidentally , my PC is an AMD64 3400+ with 1GB RAM and a 7600GS Nvidia 256mb card, has been good as gold with most routes up til now
Cheers
Colin

Yes I'm using Bin too, getting between 12 and 26 fps on WCML (with a couple of places down to single figures momentarily) compared to 28 to 58 with the same settings on Great Eastern

The scenery is quite detailed I have to say. There's also a lot of detail in the catenery and the continuous concrete ductwork on the trackside. Getting reasonable framerates with the bin patch, similar to Thames Mersey.

Re: WCML frame rates & scenery
I too am getting very low FPS with this addon. I have adopted 'Dorset Coast' settings (and adjusted these lower) but rarely get above 15 FPS even out in the sticks.
ECE never seems to be so slow and on on my PC, with what I would say are far more complicated add-ons such as GE, I am getting sustained FPS in excess of 30+.
All in all, this makes WCML almost unplayable
If anyone connected with EB can explain or go some way to solving this....
