Points sounds

Post by thegoonden »

I bought the railwaves addon track noises a while ago, and I must say I rather like them.

But in the pack it contains effects for points, and explains how you need to add the triggers into routes. Being blessed with 10 thumbs on 2 left hands, I couldn't edit the route from my chair to the toilet, so I never bothered with them much, don;t even think I installed them.

I was just wondering if any of the routes I already got from UKTS, EB and MT might have point triggers built in to them.

Any thoughts?

Hi Thegoonden

Only two which come to mind:
Skipton to Carlisle 1920 and GWR Paddington to Penzance
Sadly if you want authentic sounds on all your routes you simply have to learn the procedures using the Route Editor, not easy, but like most things in life become easier with practice.
Most users have never heard what a steam route should actually sound like, with yard, signal box and permanentway sounds etc., you could hear the railway long before you actually saw anything!
All my routes are sound configured correctly using sound regions and sound sources, a lot of work over the last 6 years but well worth every hour I have spent on the hobby.

Kindest regards

Thanks boss.

I will install the points noises and take a rip to Skipton then :D

Love that route anyway, and yes, I did notice the "soundscapes" in the yards and stations, bells from the signal box etc. Wonderful expierience taking a run along there, and that's from someone who's not hugely into kettles.
