Request for a Class 501

Post by rfletcher72 »

Hi all,

Just thinking what with the release of EH2 and West Coast, it would be great if we had a Class 501 EMU to complement these as well as the excellent Class 310/312 already available.

The Class 414 2-HAP is a close match, but with a stencil route indicator we would be nearly there.

Your thoughts would be appreciated :)

Apparently there was one -- before my time on MSTS -- but it's no longer about. I wonder if it was a victim of the mass withdrawals? It would definitely fit in nice with the EH2 stock.

There are 4 versions on my copy of TMv4.2 DVD (2 Green, 1 Blue and 1 B&G) and possibly also on earlier CD versions.

Hi
Yes I did the re-skins of Blue and green but they were exclusive to the TM CD.
The models were created by Ian Morgan....... I'll have a look in the library.

Cheers

The blue and blue-grey versions would be fantastic for the EH2 era on WCML. I hope Ian would be ok to them being uploaded to the libraby as they would be very popular for acts from that era.

The only other way round this problem is to use the your 313 or the MT 508 in blue/grey livery and declare the era post 1985!

I would second that. Pre-1985 would open up many more avenues for activity writers and to be honest, we already have plenty of scope to run the 2nd generation EMUs such as the excellent 313s and 315s with ECE and GE.

A 501 would be the icing on the cake with WCML and EH :P

There is nothing wrong with Aquafresh Jamie! :D Yes, the 501s were 3-car units; the 2-HAP is a close match, the later BR design of the 4-EPB also.

I suppose I could purchase a TM DVD to acquire the units I require. I have dug out my 1979-80 Section CA WTT (Euston To Crewe and branches) which is teeming with act. possibilities :D

Thank you to all those who have shown interest so far,

Richard
