Hi,
Try here http://steam4me.railpage.org.au/trainsim/index.html and look in tutorials. Theres a basic idiots guide and also a more detailed book by Richard Garber that you can pay 10US dollars to download. Got it myself recently.

I think the thing to remember is not to be too ambitious when you start off. Start simple. Begin with just a simple end to end run for a player service without any AI traffic. Single line routes are harder to write activities for than multiple lines, so avoid those at the start. Once you have that working you can then start to add AI and add more complicated stuff as you get more experienced. If you get situations where activities are not doing what you want, try a post on the activities forum and people will try and help.

Another tip is to look at activities other people have done. If you see something on another activity you like, look at the activity in the editor and see if you can figure out how its done. Thats how i learned most of the tricks i use now.

Stick with it. :)

I also get the problem that sometimes when im making an activity my activity editor freezes and dies on me, mainly happens when zooming in on the route map, i turn all markers and names off to make it less but it still freezes and my computer is only 3yrs old so i know its not my computer being slow. :-?

Make sure your display settings are set to 16-bit for when you're in the Activity Editor.

The symptoms you describe sound very much like you have 32-bit set.
