Pennine Class 185 [WIP]

Post by photons66 »

Hi all
I've just returned from hols in Scarborough and I took my laptop with Google Sketchup/Paint on it. There I took some photos of class 185s and decided to model one in MSTS. What do you think:

This is work in progress and is only the cab and a portion of the first end coach. I'm working on the rest of the train at the moment.

tbh i didnt believe the 395 story (still waiting for that screenshot you promised me lol :D ) and this looks anything 'but' a 3d render - even if it is you can only do static objects, not much use for a train.

As ever though im happy to be proved wrong and have egg all over my face if it means a 185 for msts :)

Yeah I drew the unit using Sketchup and Paint so I'm hoping the rumours are true and I can convert it to GMax and then into a MSTS model(I saw it done on another rolling stock thread). This is just the beginning though so as to get feedback.

Can we have a large shot of the model, please.

Maybe just a standard shot straight form sketchup.
The image above looks a bit "tampered with"....

Forgive me if I'm wrong.... but the image above looks very flat. Almost as though you have just painted over a photograph or sketch.
Fake?!

Hows about an image directly from sketchup? Like this one ^^^^

Sure. I'm out tonight and I'm working most of the week but I should be able to show you something at the end of the week. I need to transfer all of my files from my laptop to my desktop and I've only transferred the one above. The other angles are:
top down view
front view
left view
underside view.
