UK Fine Scale
Hi All,
I just downloaded a route that need UK fine scale, So I installed it the UK fine scale program into MSTS and then installed the route. I just tried opening the route in RE and it is giving me missing textures for the UK fine scale. Can someone tell me where I can find them or has a link to UK fine scale that has both shapes and textures in the package? Thanks

Re: UK Fine Scale
Is it asking for Ukfs files or Dynatrax ones as I had this problem once before in the distant hazy past...I thinkeaglefan wrote:Hi All,

Looks like the UK Finescale website has been down for a while - have a look here http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... light=ukfs
This is available from UKTrainsim
Alan
PS Just realised this may not be much help as I have downloads of texture sets much later than this file.

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558
Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.

Here are the errors that I am getting and it only a handful of them. Not all of them and they are as follows:
filed to open texture file
Routes/airedale/texturee/ukfs_track1.ace
Routes/airedale/texturee/ukfstrack.ace
Routes/airedale/texturee/sleepers.ace
Routes/airedale/texturee/2x50m.ace
That should give people an idea what is wrong I hope.

I think the site is down. If you read the information in the UKTS file (Alan suggested) it says
SamRoute builders need texture sets to use these shapes - see http://ukfs.trainsimfiles.com/download/

I actually have all four texture set downloads sitting on my hard drive, as I expect many others do. As the host site is down, I don't know whether it is OK to upload these to the library here.
Any advice from anyone?

One point here: do the missing textures get included in distributed routes such as Steyning and North Yorkshire? (I can't check myself because the laptop only has four routes on it and they're all standard MSTS track). If so, then there is already a form of allowed distribution, and that could be extended to supplying the textures on their own.

I've just checked - some of the textures are in Steyning and most in Yorkshire Coast - but not all, and only one of the four sets, of course.
For those who don't know, the four sets are:
Concrete Sleeper, Brown Ballast
Concrete Sleeper, Grey Ballast
Wooden Sleeper, Brown Ballast
Wooden Sleeper, Grey Ballast

Please have a look at my railway photograph site - http://alan-lewis-chambers.fotopic.net/ - lots of British steam and early diesels

Have a look at this thread from long long ago:

It's usually worth making a search to see if a query has been asked before. More often than not it has been!

Hi John
The problem this time isn't how to use the UK Finescale files - it is how to get them when the download site is down. The link just gives you a UK2.NET Oops message saying the page cannot be found.

And, in addition to the problems of getting those texture files, anyone needing to use Dynatrax cannot get the executable, or get the profiles if they don't already have them.
I think the issue here is not about copying or sharing the necessary files amongst ourselves, (which is a way forwards), but whether it would put Matt in a difficult position if the files are uploaded to the library by anyone other than the creator, or someone with the creator's permission.
