Work in progress

Post by Timcourt1 »

Slowly plodding away at this for the nextgen, although thanks to Paul G this will be released freeware for MSTS also.

Other variants will follow, done in Canvas and screenshot is of the .s file for MSTS although aimed at the nextgen sims, figured it might be appropriate for KRS if/when I can export in that format. I'll be adding extra textures and Maps for the nextgen sims, but as Paul stated in another post, it might get released "as is" first off then updated as I get the ability to add Materials etc which shouldn't be too hard.

Currently all the shadowing is all Art and will look like this in MSTS (well once the paint is on that is :) )

Still lots to do adding 3D detail to the body but its getting there.

Might be a wee while before release as I have a station to finish for ME+ oh and a coach too :)

Really nice Tim, thank you. If it'll export to KRS it'll go well on the York to Newcastle route.

[Nostalgia mode] When I lived near Manchester and was a student in Newcastle, more years ago than I care to admit, I'd get the train and unbelievably in retrospect, I'd be appalled if haulage was a 47 and scarcely better if it was 'only' a 45 - but if it was a 40 I'd be happy with my BR sandwich in a Mk2b as near to the front as possible with the window open to get the full roar. Ah, happy days, sitting in Manchester Victoria platform 12 waiting to depart with a Trans-Pennine 124 in platform 11, a couple of 25s as 'Wall side' pilots and a Gloucester DMU in platform 13 waiting to go to Blackburn or some such romantic spot! [/nostalgia mode]

So therefore pointing stuff like this out while it's still WIP is a good thing.

Telling me the "windows are wrong" doesn't really tell me anything anyway since there are a bunch of windows on a class 40, its a bit like saying your car isn't working, that can cover anything from a broken light bulb to a full engine seizure.

Tell me exactly whats wrong and I can fix it :)

The middle window is fine on the front it's just the two side windows. (on the front end) The two side windows on the front are not curved enough.

Just a short note, the 40's and NBL Loco's will be uploaded to UKTS when completed, I know some people had concerns following recent events at BATS but its all OK on these.

This is not a thread hijack but to show what will hopefully compliment Tims work, like Tim these were next gen but Pauls gizmo may make them MSTS viable

They are part of an EE pack l was working on to compliment Tims NBL work, but like Tim, that fire got rained on.

Sincerely

Michael
