I'm new to MSTS and am looking for a few routes!

Post by Andayle »

Hiya all

This is my first post on these boards and as the title says im a very new user of MSTS (a little late I know)

Recently myo mother and father moved house and as ever I got tangled (or conned) into helping them sort through all there old stuff. When I was sorting through all the stuff in my fathers attic I came accross the MSTS and london south east by making tracks. I asked my father if these were to be kept and he said being as he was ditching his ancient pc and had no plans to buy a new one I decided to keep the cd's.

Yesterday Was the first time I actually got to try them out. The london south stuff is fantastic and I never thought that I would have so much fun playing on a rail simulator. Only problem is im that interested that my hunger has grown for some routes that I am more familiar with from my old living area wich was the medway towns in kent.

What I would love to get hold of would be a route from London Victoria to Canterbury as I used to use that route alot for work and nipping to canturbury to see my girlfriend. Also in the last 3 years I was part of a team working on the Kings cross under ground redevelopment. Are there any routes that use the kings cross mainline station? I dont care were they go but would love to see the station in the simulator. I'm also not to bothered if these routes are payware, free is better of course but I dont mind paying for packages if there recommended.

So any one enlighten me if these routes exist?

Many thanks in advance.

There is East Coast Express by EuropeanBahn which is in three parts which when all joined together allows you to drive from Kings Cross To Leeds or York.

Hi Dean and welcome to the forums!
If you want to drive from victoria then you can get london sout coast (making tracks). This goes to brighton, portsmouth etc but not canterbury. The route I have always like is dorset coast. You can get the cd from here http://new.atomic-systems.com/asp/(zktl ... Order.aspx just login and scroll down. This is a community cd and is only £4.50 for a great route + you get 1 month premium access to ukts http://www.uktrainsim.com/index2.php?fo ... bscription for more info. Also Dorset coast 4 has been released and you can download the upgrade files quickly with you premium access. You will not regret it!
I hope that that starts you off!

For Kings X to Liverpool try Thames Mersey - a Community CD available from the cd ordering page.

Just to clarify, London South Coast (LSC) is by Europeanbahn, not Making Tracks. Also, the Thames - Mersey route's London terminus is Euston. not Kings Cross.

Oh flip - im always getting that wrong :(

I meant, of course, Mid East which runs from KingsX as far as Retford in its current incarnation, but worth waiting a few more months for Mid East Plus which will extend the route to York and include many of the branches not on the original :)
