Night Lighting for UK passenger consists
Hello members.
My consists are mainly UK Diesel and Electric mixes, with a majority hauling BR Mk1/2/3 & Virgin 1/2/3 passenger coaches.
When I choose to run at night, only 1 of the passenger carriages are illuminated (the BR MK II) but I don't know how this came about. At first I thought it was time related, but I really am guessing.
I raised a question before regarding rear red lights, and was pointed in the direction of a WAG file, but having looked at the WAG files for the BR & VT passenger stock, can't see anything obvious.
Is it a simple process to add night lighting ?
Many thanks
Paul

Looked at this topic....and got a 404 error on the page, so I'll never know if it helped or not.
The initial problem was though that I've downloaded and installed all my "stocK" in excatly the same manner, and have one set of coaches that are illuminated internally, all the rest do not, and I don't know why.
I don't have the Shape programme, and the process involved sounds a bit heavy, so we'll do a bit more research

Re: Night Lighting contd
Because they were not built by the same person........ one builder has set the internal textures to half bright....... the other builder hasn't.sebulba wrote:Hello Ross.rosssweet wrote:Hi sebulba,

Hello Jon.
The $64000 question is, where can I find the texture file for the particular passenger carriage ?
Thanx
Paul
Paul.
I'm afraid you've missed the point that Jon was making.
In the drawing stage the designer has the choice of texture handling; whether it's matt, shiny, transparent or the one which interests you - capable of showing in low light conditions. Using Gmax or 3dcanvas it's possible to be very selective which parts are affected.
Aftter you download the model it's not possible to change these settings.
I've tried both on my models & prefer not to use interior lighting; coaches which use interior lighting show too bright during daylight & just don't look right to me.

Night lighting etc
OK Understood. I thought it was a selectable item rather than a built in item.
In that case, I shall change all my consists accordingly
Many thanks
All help appreciated
