Hi Conrad - welcome to the forums. :D

Sounds like you need to make a consist, using either just the 37 on its own or with a suitable rake of coaches or wagons. You can do this in the Activity Editor or by using a third party program such as Conbuilder. Once this is done, it should be available for you to use in the sim.

The MSTS consist editor is hideously difficult to find. I took me several years before I stumbled across it by accident.

This is a rough guide on how to get to/use it:

Open MSTS Editors and Tools.
Go into the Activity Editor.
Create a new activity - don't worry about the name.
Click on 'New' in the Service section.
Click on 'New' in the Consists section of the window that just popped up.
Create your consist, give it a name and then save it.
Close all windows without saving the activity.
Run MSTS.
Drive your new [insert loco/consist name here]

Hi conradnelson,

Once you've found it, make a shortcut from your Desktop to it, then you're straight to next time, there will be a next time believe me.

Hi guys, have opened the activity editor but when I click on new I only get "select a route" option, I still cannot find "consist", I have tried dragging and dropping my loco into the editor but that does not work, more suggestions and help please, thanks

Hi Conrad

Rather than trying to master the intricacies of the MSTS editor, you may be better off downloading Conbuilder lite and using that program to build your consists - it's a lot more user-friendly! You can get it from here:

Hi again conradnelson

You need to select one of the Routes you have installed to get into the Activity Editor, then you can make a new Consist by following thammond12 instructions from -- Click on 'New' in the Service section.

Believe me it's easy when you've done your first it's obvious after that.

Good Luck,

Bob
