Seen one! IMO they suited their old colours better... NT livery doesnt look good on them.

I think Pacers are quite nice myself, I grew up with them. I like the rythm of their wheels, and the bouncyness is just hilarious! They sound quite hellfire aswel!

I wouldn't say that round here if I were you...

There's a lot of people who have suffered them for years and have a lot of bent up Pacer Rage inside them...

Possibly, but do they 'fit' as it were? I don't mean gauge wise I mean could you mentally picture such a design being used in the UK? I can't think of any train design that we have 'pinched' from the Europeans except for the Eurostars of course (feel free to prove me wrong on this one mind!). I doubt the idea will ever take off, although I'm not saying its a bad one! They could well hold the answer to many branch line operations across the country.

395001, by Pacer Replacement are you referring to the CSR Ziyang trains which currently features on your display picture? No order for such trains were ever placed and were merely speculative, I think that idea has quietly died off... (Thank goodness).
All Desiros are "euro-trains" shoehorned into the UK loading gauge.

Its also nice to see the new Northern Rail liveried Pacer unit aswell, and it shows that there is still some thing left in them if money is being spent on them. Long live the Pacers!

Ahh well I suppose everyone has their embarrasing thing that they like, you admit to liking Pacers,- I as a devout Midland man admit that I love firing 57XX panniers!.................

But sure this is a bit far fetched
Long live the Pacers!

One trip on them ever left me quite willing to kick them in.

The 395 class (Including 395001) is certainly not a pacer replacement. They're High-Speed Hitachi built trains to run on the new Channel Tunnel Rail Link between Kent and St Pancras. They will operate domestic routes on the 3rd rail and join the High Speed Line somewhere in Kent and run at 140mph to the centre of London. Certainly not Pacer replacements.

Nice to see some Pacer fans coming forward! I used to dub them 'Smile Trains' because of an inset on the front, to me as a child it looked like a smiling mouth.
