EB West Coast Coast Express update

Post by 31466 »

I have just looked on the EB website to see more details about this forthcoming route. I am a bit worried that it says there will be 29 intermediate stations but the map doesn't show the stations between Birmingham New Street and Coventry except for Birmingham International. Does this mean that they will miss out Adderly Park, Stechford, Lea Hall, Marston Green, Hampton in Arden, Berkswell, Tile Hill and Canley? I can't believe they could do that but it is a worry as I live near Marston Green and that is one of the main features of the route for me. Does anybody know if they will be included?

Looks that way according to the map they've put up. I notice the bizarre Intercity Pendo is on the cover... :-?

Instead of asking on here, why don't you approach them direct?

EB website really needs to be ran through a spellchecker....
You'll need to put this one in your dairy
we intend to ask interested Simmer to registry there interest
making it way
Not posting that as an 'anti-EB' gripe, but seriously as a bit of advice for their webmaster - spelling mistakes can and will deter punters.

Surely they're going to include the pendolino in Virgin livery?

I dont think they are allowed to, hence the IC Pendolino.

Well in "lsc" the voyager was included , in virgin livery - but minus the virgin brand name.

Despite my often moans at EB, and not knowing the full facts of this matter, I feel it will be a shame if EB have to go with an IC version of Pendo instead of Virgin Red.

Not too concerned personally, as I if get this route, I shall be running roarers up and down the rails(!), but more for those younger members on here who love all things modern.

Here's a question: Just say EB aren't allowed (and it is all hypothetical at this stage) to release Virgin branded stock for the pack, is there anything to stop them releasing one (along with an act or two) as a free download after the pack goes on sale?

This was what I was thinking with EH2, depending on time constraints I'll be releasing a Virgin Trainset using the EH2 stock once released.

One of the benefits of EB's new policy of releasing routes, acts and stock in seperately available packs is that it allows users to use their own freeware or other stock with an activity. This neatly gets around the legal restrictions on software houses using railway companies' commercial brandnames. This way, the customer doesn't have to pay for non-authentic stock like IC Pendolino's (made because authentic versions cannot be provided) that they don't want to use.

I may well get WCE but I too will be running Tim's EH1 and EH2 stock up and down the rails! :P

I'm happy with Thames - Mersey, but I might consider EB's new product with proper trains, mostly edited consists using the stock from Thames Mersey DVD. As for that Pendo in IC colours, somehow it doesn't look right.

But if British Rail was still around, that is what the pendolinos could have looked like, had British Rail stayed and had they taken the option to upgrade the fleet from 87's and 90's with DVT's to Pendolino's.

The intermediate stations between New Street and International WILL be included in the route - the station names were pretty much illegible on the map, as the text had to be tiny, so I decided to leave them out rather than spend forever fiddling with them :)

Cheers

What about the slight divergence via Watford High Street for DC line services? I notice the Southern end of the DC lines themselves will be modelled (judging by the includion of Harlesden, Stonebridge Park etc).

As far as I am aware, WCE is to be released in two parts.
Part 1 is London Euston to Birmingham New Street and Part 2 is Birmingham New Street to Manchester Piccadilly.

Part 3 could continue onwards to Carlisle and maybe Glasgow Central but that's anyones guess.
