BR(M) days on the Bala Hub

Post by davidaward »

A few shots from activities that i am developing for the bala hub CD re-release. The route is the original still, but some scenery items will have to be changed before relase, but these activities will use the same track layout etc and use the new stock. Activities are split between BR(W) 1948-1961, BR(M) 1962-3 (post 1948 on the Vale) and GWR/ LMS (Vale of Clywyd) (pre1948).

Anyway here are some Midland region shots of trains on the Ruabon-Barmouth line set in 1962-3ish

Firstly a Barmouth-Ruabon stopper with an Ivatt

Rolling into Barmouth Junction

Crossing the Dolgelley shuttle at Penmaenpool

A Bala town to Wrexham train with an Ivatt tank, rolls into Bala Junction

Crossing a freight off the Vale of Clywyd at Corwen

Crossing another stopper at Glyndyfrdywy

standing at Llangollen

Now a Birkenhead-Barmouth semi with a standard 4 4-6-0

Crossing a freight at Carrog (the panniers stayed on though BR(M) days on pick up freights.

A freight waits at Corwen to head off towards Denbigh

Crossing a stopper at Llanwuchylyn

and a semi at Dolgelley

A stopper up the Vale of Clywyd iun the 1950s

as we draw into Corwen a Wrexham-Bala auto awaits departure

and we cross a Corwen bound stopper at Ruthin.

There's many more to come yet from all eras.....................

Cheers all,

there's something altogether more satisfying when you get an activity to work on a single track line with all the passing paths working well. I've been working on this for a while and the screenshots I've made make it seem worthwhile now! The route is my fav made for MSTS and hopefully it won't be out of the limelight for too much longer!

There's about 18 activities at present all from the BR (both W and M) I'lll start on the GWR/LMS ones soon once a few more PO wagons have been sorted out.

I'll have to get Bala Hub when my membership expires :D

Cracking locos / activities David - I particularly like the weathered effect on the 4MT.
