Time for some new shots

The Rail Simulator forum was very busy leading up to the UK release on October 12th 2007, this is a read-only copy of those discussions for historic and review purposes.

You're right. Let's see what follows the promise of last week.

I really don't understand their reluctance to post some new screenshots of the product which suppose to be released in September. Within this timeframe, they should be in advanced beta testing phase.
Very disappointing.

I'd rather they spend the remaining time developing the product than faffing around with all the UKTS users who are never pleased.

I agree.

We all want this game to be finished already, but will people quit being so pushy? I'm certain the good people at Kuju are busy working on the game as we speak. It seems ungrateful that they've spent so long making the game for people to speak about them this way, as if they have failed somewhere. I bet most of you don't quite know what is involved in the game making process, and I for one respect everyone at Kuju enough to not complain when they 'make a promise' that they will post more information within a week...

Don't get me wrong, I'd love more information on the game as much as anyone here... and I'm sure Kuju will release more information when they're good and ready.

It's very nice that you ALLWAYS advocate Kuju site, but I don't think that posting some screenshots taken from supposed to be already running product, by one person only (KujuAdam) , be by almeans interrupting the operation of the whole team. Moreover, there is nothing to be so pleased of or to be never pleased, I really don't see the reason to be so pleased as you.
Finally, this is a commercial product for which you will need to pay and they are living of this, so nobodyhere makes any special favor by posting here or there some prerelease information. Take a look on other PC Gaming sites and watch the stream of endless information about other games in development..

I'm sorry but i don't understand that sentence.

Hate to break it to you, but there are only 10, 000 users on this forum, most of which are inactive. So whilst our input is helpful, we aren't the only ones who will be buying this. They could annoy 10-30 people here and lose those sales, but it'd make no real difference in their total sales.

Yes, they do give out a lot of images, but the difference is they wait until the product is on the doorstep of completion. Kuju have been giving updates as they happen throughout development, which is unusual for most products, yet you lot still complain.

Just to try and stop all this piffle - hoping to release information is not promising. Yet another pointless thread and moan by people.[/quote]

Heh, i just get tired of everyone moaning. I've followed enough games to know how these things go, and i have enough knowledge of the development process to know what to expect and when to expect it.

I also know developers get annoyed when they are constantly pushed for more media whilst they work their asses off to finish the product.

That may not be the case with Kuju, but the majority of developers just ignore what the consumer moans about in public forums, release the product and then fix everything in patches.

LOL

I love simulations. I bought Silent Hunter III and looked forward to Silent Hunter IV. As did a lot of people on http://www.subsim.com.

So what happened? There were loads of threads and posts just like this... "When will it be ready?" "We want it now." You know the usual eight year old style Christmas impatience.

So it gets released, and then what happens? Loads of moaning again because apparently it's been "rushed to market"!!! AND people saying they want their money back! Pathetic!

I'll bet that exactly the same thing happens here once KRS hits the shelves. People love moaning. Jeeeez, I'm glad I'm not a game developer. It was bad enough being a cab-builder!
