Looking good, I think they're heading for a Go in about T-9. Currently on the Go/No Go hold, but it's looking good for launch. Mainly paperwork stuff to chase up on on the Go/No Go but they'll do that after launch.

First time I've seen one of these live. :D

It is looking good. Currently parked at -9:00 but looking good to pick up the count shortly for a launch in 25 minutes or so.

However, the TAL abort sites are marginal. Zarragosa is out but the French landing site is OK..

Is there anyway of finding out the launch path into orbit that she's gonna take? Be interesting to see where she'll be flying over on the way up.

Not sure about that but about 15 minutes to go.

Mission control (Houston), shuttle commander, range safety officer (LSC) report no constaints for launch.

1 minute to the resumption of the count.

The automatic sequencer is running now. In the computers hands now until the 31 second cut off which is the last human touch.

Steve Payne's inaugeration looked funny, getting his tie cut in half.

Still, good work to all of them at Mission Control, and on board Atlantis. One helluva ride! :D

Well done.

But would still like to know when a more expansive space programme will resume. Let's get back to the Moon, then Mars then the outer planets with manned missions. I know FTL etc. isn't going to happen anytime soon (unless they are concealing the tech) but it would be nice to see manned exploration of the Sol System in my lifetime

Here Here I too wish that NASA would start going to the moon or mars.

Anyway, great news about another shuttle launch.
