The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

you use the editors that come with it. The route editor is the one you want I think!

You really need to read the PDF ebook called: Step by Step Guide to Route Building by Michael Vone, Publisher: Abacus Inc.

http://www.abacuspub.com/

It cost approx £10 at the present exchange rate. There is so much to learn that I can't imagine how anyone could build a route without it. The book is brilliant. It is clear and easy to understand - it is an example on how all manuals should be written. There is a review of the ebook in the uktrainsim reviews column.

Another route building aid is a program called TS Tools 2. It is used to create landscaping, lay trackbed (not rails), and has a tile editor that is used to move or rotate static objects. The program is involved with the most difficult to understand manual. Having at last contructed some landscape the result is amazingly true to life.
