Can not open Readme

Post by karlrestall »

Hi All. I have just downloaded the Thaxted branch route and am wanting to install it but I cannot read the readme :x. I am getting really frustrated with the spanned zip file as I have looked through the forums adn I just do not understand how to open them, I have tried installing Winzip 11.1 I think it was, I have tried routeriter and still no joy. I'm sure I am missing something obvious but I cannot read the readme so I really do not know what I am doing. Any advice?

Regards

Karl

Hi Karl

Not the first time that the installation of Thaxted has proved a problem, and it won't be the last! Take a look at this thread and see if it helps:

I find winrar better for dealing with either true multipart, or simple multiple file downloads, it can, for instance, allow you to unzip a number of files at once to a specified directory (a temp one, don't let it write straight to MSTS). It also pummels winzip when one has to deal with anything packed by an idiot (zips in zips in rars in zips, holding a flipping compressed file format in the first place DOH! ).

Get it straight from rarlabs, avoid those all in one download sites.....might as well be mos-eisley.com villainy etc etc.
