Leeds Evening freight

Post by Whitemoor »

All

As theres a couple of memebers from the Leeds area on here, and im stopping ina premier travel inn in Leeds West, i wondering if anyone knows what route the 60 hauled Tarmac stone trains take thru Leeds, and whats the best platform there to get them?

Would be great to see a few of them whilst im here at the expense of NR for 8 weeks!!!!

Cheers

Hello mate.

I regularly see them coming past my windown but have never found out any times/platforms yet. Also see the ocasional oil train aswell. I will try and note the timings I see them. As to platforms I could hazard a guess. May go down there tonight and take a look so will let you know.

If your in Leeds for 8 weeks, why not pop down to Middleton Railway? Got steam running every Sunday. When are you up this way?

Many thanks

You're not siggie training, are you?

The trains normally come through the through road at Leeds about 13.00, but often a bit later. The tanks are for Neville Hill depot, usually running just on Thursdays. Freighliner send a fair few locos and empties through on their way to Midland Road, but they tend to be very random.
