FCC's 365 units under going internal refit

Post by ajax103 »

I've haven't seen the exact insides of it but there was a 365 in the shed at Hornsey currently having a internal refit.

I' was speaking to one of my colleagues who works there and I found out that the seats are being refitted, maybe with new seat covers and where the door area is, they are ripping up the carpet and replacing it with vinyl.

I' don't know when it's going back into service or the unit number as I was too busy talking to my colleagues.

Last time i saw them in the south east they looked exactly the same as they do now on the ECML, although strangly FCC have also used the same seat pattern on their 313 refubished trains? Although i do agree that they do need a refit (although not as badly as some other trains e.g. the pacer!!!)

FCC have alot to do with refurbishing their trains!!

And i think its 319 to be right? And that program is still running, i went on a refurb 319, and the first class quarters looked very peacefull, seems nice.

No, I'm pretty sure it's the 365's.

Important Update:
***************

The FCC 365 fleet is indeed under going a internal refit as confirmed by very senior management.

What exactly will happen is the seats will have new seat covers and it looks like the backs of them will be having FCC branding.

Also ALL carpeting will be ripped up and replaced by new blue carpeting in the seating area only - the door and toilet areas will be having vinyl flooring.

Secondly because I can say I'm that damn good, I can even tell you exactly what unit is the first one to be done.

It's 365507 by the way

an ex Connex unit, I do believe. I loved the 365s when they were running on the South Eastern... as much as it pains me to say though, the 375s are much better for the distances covered in this part of the world.

I belive you are right there, it's a former South Eastern unit which took over from Connex?

Hopefully I go one better and find out when it's due out into public service.

the 365's were good units on the south eastern but they were basically (interior wise) just slightly more sort of intercity styled interiors from a 465 .

i think what was meant with FCC branding in the back of the seats is somethign similar to the seat backs on the refurbished FGW hst's with the first roundel.

cant wait to see this...

am hoping the interior trims will be the same as the 319's

Yes, it's more then likely to go the FGW route with the seatbacks having the First logo.

I'm going down to Hornsey later in two weeks time hopefully, so I should find out exactly what the refit will be from the carpet to the seats.
