Channel tunnel Route: needs to be done?
HI all
Just woundering could the channel tunnel be done? Or is anyone doing it. Thel track in the tunnel would have to be edited! and so would the walls of the tunnel etc , so could it be done? This would mean that the whole route from Waterloo-Paris or Brussels.
your thoughts ?
Many Thanks

It is a commercial pack - pop down to your computer store, or go to http://www.eurobeanbahn.co.uk or http://www.justtrains.net or http://www.amazon.co.uk or your favourite games retailer.
There is a review in the review section of http://www.uktrainsim.com

my vote etc
i didnt volunteer to do it, but if anyone does decided to do it, let me know, i have track plans for the new strech to st pancress{the high speed route, channel tunnel link}. i would also like to help build something like this, but i've never built a route or a train before, and i only have a 8gb harddrive that is shared by the family, so i'm probably no use!
Steam trains an art work, not kettle boiling, welsh nuggut burning, moving scrap!!!

Re: Channel tunnel Route: needs to be done?
While on the subject, just done a test in RE with a short consist, and the Shuttle will not fit through the default round tunnel. New larger ones will have to be made (or are any included in xtracks?).

Yep, they are biggys. I like the way that, on the NEC, if you go for the passenger view on the car deck, every now and then a catenery post passes through you
Also, as an aside, two of the cars travelling on the shuttle belong to members of this forum. I wonder where they are going? Fact finding tour?

Yeah I know
HI all
The just Channel tunnel route doesn't seem impressive oundering if anyone one who is a good at modeling that can design the 2 terminals for the Le shuttle and Paris and waterloo.
Thats all, It would really look good!
many Thanks

Looking at the TGV pack from Justtrains, the attempt at the Euro Tunnel is rather poor. For a commercial product, the impression it gives of the euro tunnel looks like they watched the film 'Mission Impossible' and went from there.
I have large resources covering the 2 eurotunnel terminals. Once i get into how the route builder and modellers work, i will endeaver to take on this project. Giving it the justice and effort it so requires.

Ohhh! Don't say that. I said something along simliar lines (excuse the pun) as did someone else and we both had emails and phone calls from the thought police.LucaZone wrote:Looking at the TGV pack from Justtrains, the attempt at the Euro Tunnel is rather poor. Yeah I'm deadly serious. It got quite nasty. From what I'm led to believe I upset quite a few people with some of the things I say sometimes. I suppose it doesn't help when a 'respected' route builder says your product isn't as good as maybe it could be.
There's nothing wrong with the TGV pack, for what it is a good product, but it doesn't smack of reality...it's a depiction and the publisher/author have now clearly stated this. So that's fair enough.
Problem is we are a very demanding bunch and standards are going up all the time. Sometimes it is very difficult to make a good business case for some of the products, especially routes. Very few have got all the skills that are needed to do really good stuff and until MSTS goes really prime time then earnings from commercial products with be relatively low. I'm privy to some of the profits that add-ons have made. Quite honestly, especially with routes, it's more profitable flipping burgers for a living at the mo....if what if been told is true.
We should support all add-on makers, whether that's freeware or payware. And try to constructively add criticism if needed. I admit I wasn't that tactful about the TGV pack.
By the sounds of it you come from the right background for route building, if you need and help on railway matters give me a shout.
Cheers
Rob
