Steam loco whistle's

Post by wyefielder »

Can anybody explain how I can alter the " fs. whistle" in my uk_shared folder to the modified " fs whistle" which has a more deeper sound which is more akin to the Black 5 which im trying to install it to. Ive tried pasteing the wav.file to the folder and altered the text in the " 2cyl generic" file for the loco but all I get is silence when I press the whistle

Hi
Easiest way is to rename the new wav file to the name of the old wav file.
What you'ved described above should work... so maybe its a typo in the sms file.
Or if you confuse inside wav files from outside wav files, usually with 'X_ ' in front, they won't play.
This tutorial is worth reading

Cheers Jon, Im still having problems though, Ive tried re-naming the files and moving them into the folder but its as though the folder won't recognise the wav. file its either the old fs whistle or nothing

See my comment about the 'format' of the actual wav file... inside and outside are different frequency's.
