Very nice! As good as anything I've seen, if not better.

Looks like there is light and dark bands on the ballast, when it repeats it looks a bit strange. Great other than that though.

The problem with track .ace files is that they are small (each one only covers about 5 yds of track) and therefore tiled very often. This means that any slight variation in the colouring of the texture is magnified greatly.

Although it is not prototypical, a texture which is uniform in colour/shade etc tends to look better. I tried a texture once which had pieces of litter etc and looked great on its own, but once in the sim there was a Coke tin every 5 yards.

With a little adjustment to remove the banding effect the texture will look great.

Thank you all for the advice. I got some more pictures when I was in Rotherham last weekend and tried again, got rid of the banding effect. Here are some shots of the improved version:

I guess the main part should do, its just a matter of finding where the 3rd rail texture is taken from and getting that sorted. If anyone would like the texuture beforehand, just drop me a PM and I will send it. Just need to see if it works correctly on other peoples computers too.

If you applie a new track texture to that texture, it will still keep the 3rd rail! :D

I dont think its part of the track texture.

A different shape!

Cheers
