Activity Editor problem

Post by olly1234 »

Bonjour Y'all!

I am having troublr with AE at the moment, it wont put static consists down for my acticitys! It worked fine until about 2 weeks ago when i installed LSE, and had to use Train Store for it to run because of that 500 consists bug.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

This is due to corruption of the AE registry keys in the hwrendered main key in your windows registry. If you are comfortable editing your registry, run regedit from a command prompt and do a search for hwrenderer. In that folder delete all the keys starting AE. Close regedit and reboot your PC. When you next run the activity editor they will be re-created :)

There was a utility that did the job but it's now been removed from the library.

If you don't want to edit the registry you will have to reinstall; an unpleasant and trying process.

The path to the relevant registry keys is:-

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\1.0\HWRenderer

Now I've lost count of the number of times I've quoted that!

Olly - I can understand your worry, but it really is quite straightforward as long as you take care and double check before pressing the delete key. if the worst comes to it, you can always reinstall MSTS, and you are going to do that now, so youve nothing really to lose.

I have to say i delete these keys pretty regularly, maybe once every couple of months or so. the registry gets corrupted quite easily.

Just type regedit and then press enter.
That will open the registry editor.
Then work your way down the menu tree, clicking on the + boxes, looking for ....
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\1.0\HWRenderer
Click on HWRenderer and delete the 21 entries starting with AE_

That's all you have to do!

The removed utility, "MSTSFIX", can now be found here, packaged with some others...

I thought the AE fixer was now part of the 'Tweaks Utils and Improvements' pack on the front page of ukts....
