Sound properties

The SMS sound system in MSTS 1 has been quite well understood for some time, but there are still new things being learned as well as a wealth of information about what's already known that you can learn here.

Sound properties

Post by 92212 »

Hi
I sure someone else has come across this one!.........i'm trying to use some sounds of my own to replace other steam loco sounds. Is there some really specific set of file properties required for Train simulator to be able to read it?
I've even tried simply playing around with sounds in my audio editor software that Train sim already plays ok. When i've saved the file it won't play anymore! No error messages or anything, just silence or hissing! Any ideas anyone?
