Something to look forward to. :)

Oops got loads of pictures... but no working scanner at the moment. Will see if I can get some OK digital photographs and send you on the weekend.

I am also thinking of some places to run the non-preserved versions. See my post in http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?t=64736

looks like you have the usual TSM smoothing problems on the boiler arches and cylinders - these will make it look a bit odd in the sim as it affects the lighting of the surfaces.

Not sure about how you fix it, but it's something to do with removing the flat sides from the main part.

Paul is correct, Cylinders etc can be made to look pretty good if you switch to poly mode, and split the end polys out from Cylinders.

You can rejoin them after texturing if required and they will maintain their smoothing.

Nice work! It really captures the character of the original. I love the whistle too, it's something that really makes a model for me. However, if I can be picky, I think that the rear splashers need their ends separating like the cylinders. Also, I think there were some pictures in Model Rail at some point, but I can't remember. I'll have a dig around. Good luck with the model!

your right i havent seperated all the parts for the poly smoothing i will at some point, main aim is to get the last few bits onto the model (lamp Irons, airpipe, handrail holders, brake gear, cylinder cocks etc) then seperate the problematic poly smoothed parts and then texture not to far to go.

Looks a bit too yellow to me.

The dome colour looks to be closer.

Excellent job on the motion, I hope it all works when you animate it!

That texture is looking good. I like the rivet detail on the bogie, but think that it should be made darker. The louvred chimney will be a big challenge to texture convincingly.

Still need to redo the rear splasher. Whistle and tall safety valves look good.

Remind me to send you some outlines for HR number plates if you need them.
