hi

Do you mean the LMS/BR upper quadrant signals I made and released?

If that's the case, can you email me copies of your sigcfg and sigscr files with a description of what the problem is and and other signals used on your route.

Cheers

Yes those are the ones. I add the text from the files in the downloads but I think I am doing something wrong because it fails with faults at various lines when I try to open the editor. I cant see ur email address

OK

My email address should be under my profile but it's e.kinder@daelnet.co.uk
I'll go through the files tonight and then get back to you

Cheers
Edmund

p.s. signal scripts are horrible things until you get to know them. 1 missing bracket and it goes pear shaped!

Quite wierd seeing someone with a name the same as mine.
It's a rare too :-)

I've had no problem with the signals as such, but only when i've place in colour signals too.

I'm no good at technical things at first, but i'll get around it soon.

LMS signals

Post by brooksy »

I have used these signals on my NZ route and they are excellent.
Activity tests with lots of AI and they perform extremely well.
I have some very complicated movements controlled by these signals and no problems yet, although I had to experiment a lot with changes to the set up to get it right.
I have found it pays not to rely to much on the despatcher though as I got a permission to proceed in a blind spot with spectacular results.
Edmund Kinder was also very helpful with questions re their use which I appreciated.

Hi everyone

I'm glad to hear the signals are a success. A number of well-known route builders mailed me to ask if they could use them on their releases, so look out for them.

I'm just about to release the final part of the early BR colour lights. Hopefully, this should be next week. They're still doing odd things :-?

I had a number of people ask me for variations (mostly gantry varients). I've made them and mailed them to the person. This I've always been happy to do, because it's basically down to you guys to tell me what you want. All the signals have been made with Train Sim Modeler and so once you've made 1 you can make varients very quickly with cut and paste etc.

After the last batch of colour lights comes out, I'm going to turn my attentions to ex-Midland lower quadrant semaphores. I've not been very lucky getting scale drawings, so I think it's a trip to the Midland Railway Centre with tape measure and camera.

After this, my attention will be entirely on modelling buildings. So many people are making excellent loco's and rolling stock so I've decided not to tackle that area. You may have seen the Midland boxes I released a few months ago. Well, I'm working on some new, better skins (along with night and snow), and I will release the whole lot again as one complete package. I've also made unskinned models of all the Settle Carlisle buildings including railway cottages and station masters house (I felt that the Microsoft offerings were too inaccurate). I just have to work on the digital photo's in PSP and then I'll release them. I did release Lazonby waiting room ahead of time just as a taster (this will be re-released with night and snow textures)

If anyone has any requests for other signals let me know and I'll have a go.

Cheers
Edmund
