Odd appearance in Consist Editor

Post by ianm42 »

I have just put together yet another version of the Mk1 coach as a new model, and it appears and runs fine in MSTS, but in the Consist Editor it looks very strange. Anyone got any ideas what is up with it?

If it was a Jaffa cake packet, I'd say someone has peeled it open! Never seen that effect in there before... :-?

I've had the consist editor do similar things with the little pics, though in game everything is fine.

Where does the consist editor get these pics from? I cannot find any files for them, so as far as i can tell, they are generated on the spot, rather than loaded from a folder.

I've had something similar in the consist editor in the past. In that case it was caused by the bounding box being set too small so that a few vertices in the model lay outside the bounding box.

This didn't cause a problem in MSTS, but it did create an effect similar to that you have shown in the consist editor (in my case I had a big triangle sticking out of the front of a locomotive).

Probably not the case here but just a thought...

Its possible the flashing lights effect for the pickup shoes could have been outside the bounding box. The texture files were editted, and possibly the physics files were edditted (this is a joint collaboration) and the problem has now gone away.
