Oxford route

The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

Been busy working on Radley - one station at a time. Not much left of it these days, and it looks particularly shabby with the old GW footbridge now removed (acquired by the GW Society) and replaced by what I hope is a temporary structure.

Nice one, I like the fact you remembered to put bushes in, most modellers (no offence) forget about details like that :)

Just thought I'd say, this really is looking fantastic! Here's hoping you avoid all the nasty traps and pitfalls of RE ;) I can't really say much more, apart from keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kind feedback. I too am hoping that RE doesn't mess me about and am filled with nervous apprehension every time I open it up!

My modelling techniques have come a long way since I started with the Oxford station area and I intend to have another look at that area and improve it considerably. Spent yesterday lunchtime on site at Culham - that's my next project.

Well, you've got me drooling, Michael, with those pics of Radley. Pity the route's modern

Michael,

That is looking really good. I particularly like the reflection in the screen.

Thanks for all the encouraging feedback - spurs me on to keep going.

I'm afraid the reflection in the DOO screen isn't 'dynamic' - now that would be neat!

That looks excellent!

Honestly, I turn my back for two minutes and somebody comes along and raises the routebuilding bar even further! ***crawls back to Route Editor, mumbling incoherently***

Just thought I'd let you know that I'm aiming to provide regular updates on the route on my blog at http://ctyerkes.blogspot.com. A bit of an experiment, really (for myself). At least it gives me something to do while waiting for MSTS to load or stop crashing.

Thanks again for all your positive feedback and interest - I've been really encouraged by it.

Keep at it Michael. You are doing a great job. And, Jonathan, as I build my Chiltern route (see the Chiltern route thread), I know exactly what you mean about the bar being raised!
