I have to say that is absolutely Brilliant! I lived in Oxford for 14 years.
Is that old rail carriage still just next to Platform 3?
Can't wait for the release

Certainly been there for a while!
I used to see them leaning out the window of the HST
when it was arriving into oxford.
You hardly see them now on Voyagers, the windows in the doors
are tiny.

Hi James,
Yes indeed, but it's slow (as I anticipated right at the beginning of my thread). With three (imminently four) toddlers to manage I'm putting in short stints at a time - ten minutes here, half-an-hour there, etc. At the moment I'm working on building landmark scenery objects (quite a few completed) plus stations - I feel as though I know the route intimately now
No screenshots to show at present but will post when I have some.
Thanks for your interest.

While docmartin has been busy in the Banbury/Aynho area for his excellent Banbury/Marylebone route (see http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?t=18041), I've been working at the southern end of my Didcot-Banbury Thames-Cherwell Valley route. Didcot Parkway is slowly taking shape.
5051 'Earl Bathurst' eases up to the coaling stage at the GWS's Railway Centre.

View from the footpath adjacent to the fast lines. 66058 is lurking in the yard.

5051 again, now turned, proceeds slowly through platform 3 past the EWS stabling point.

In platform 3 with the power station's cooling towers (well, 2 of them visible anyway - the other 4 are there, honest!) looming ominously in the distance.

Trackwork at Didcot (excl. the Railway Centre) is about 95% complete - just East and Foxhall junctions to finish; then the Railway Centre, of which about 60% is complete (somehow I've got to do the broad gauge section...). Some scenery has been added, but the station and town area will form the bulk (hoping to be 'on location' tomorrow to get some up-to-date pics).
The resident shunter these days is 08804; here is 08580 (currently withdrawn, I believe!) pottering about the yard. Note the EWS refuelling point in the distance.

And here's the stabling point adjacent to platform 5, with a northbound Voyager racing off towards Oxford and beyond.

Have been busy working on Didcot: this is highly addictive for some reason...

And back to the stabling point, this time with station building and detail on the GWS site:

Finally an overview of part of the yard as seen from the footbridge to the station car park:

66201 at Appleford freight terminal:

If anyone can track down photos of the terminal at Appleford I'd be very interested to see them. I know there's a crane (which I haven't yet added) but beyond that I'm guessing.
The terminal itself; after the event I realised that the trucks are in the wrong siding for the stone terminal...:
